Seamless Carbon Steel Black Pipe is extensively used in applied involving industries like the shipbuilding and boiler industries, along with nuclear device, gas conveyance as well as petrochemical industries due to its characteristics of high corrosion resistance in combination with suitable mechanical properties. Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe is an alloy of elements carbon and iron. The content of carbon present in a Carbon Steel Pipe can be up to 2.1% of the total alloys’ weight. Any increase in the carbon percentage in the alloy used to manufacture a Fully Killed Carbon Steel line pipe will raise the metals hardness and tensile strength properties. Although with an increase in the percent of carbon, the Black Carbon Steel jacketed pipe will lose its ductile properties.
A benefit of using a Sch 40 Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe is that it has good properties in terms of both hardness as well as tensile strength, but in comparison to other steel grades, this Carbon Steel Pipe is less expensive. When compared to several stainless steel grades, the Carbon Steel Seamless Pipe does not require additions of expensive alloyants such as chromium, nickel and molybdenum. The absence of these high costing alloyants is what makes the Carbon Steel Welded Pipe less expensive; since the main or primary alloying materials used in the manufacture of this grade of Carbon Steel ERW Pipe are only carbon and iron. Apart from these two properties, the epoxy lined carbon steel pipe also has other important properties such as good wear resistance and good resistance to corrosion. Low Temp Carbon Steel Pipe can be used for low pressure conveyance of materials like water, oil, air steam, gas or other fluids.
